Jaapani palmikud / Japanese Cables

Jah, need ON (natuke) hullumeelsed sokid.

Muster on samast jaapani mustriraamatust, millest eelmine kaelussallgi.

I know what you are all thinking - these are crazy socks :)

I started kintting these while we were in the middle of  snowstorm. Kids got three days extension to the Christmas break as it was freezing and we were snowed in. Nothing moved. You could feel the need for warm socks in your toes. So, I was sitting on a couch,  wrapped in  blanket, armed with hot coffee and knitted. Cold weave is over for now but it will be back, trust me, I have lived in Michigan long enough.

Pattern is from the same book as the cowl in previous post. I have wanted to try the two-colored cable for some time now and socks were perfect size project. This cable is not difficult to knit, just remember to put lighter color outside, then it looks better.

I don't  know what your opinion is, but I really like this color combination. Pink reminds me of northern lights I once saw in the sky and therefore it fits to the season. Needles are 3.75mm for main part and 2.5mm for ribbing.

Hoidke end soojas!
Keep yourself warm!

Kiire kaelussalli kudumine / Fast Cowl Knit

Oma uusi raamatuid sirvides (vaata eelmist postitust) jäi mulle silma põnev muster. Tahtsin juba ammu kaelussalli kududa ja see sobis ideaalselt.

Lõngaks Punta Yarns Lava Hand Painted (30% villa, 70% akrüüli), värv HP57, mida kulus alla ühe toki. Kootud vardaga number 5mm. Sai valmis täpselt selleks ajaks, mil meie piirkonda suur lumetorm tabas. Pildi tegemise hetkeks olin juba pikemat aega lumesajus seisnud.

As I was flipping through my new books (see previous post), I noticed a perfect cowl pattern. The yarn is  Punta Yarns Lava Hand Painted (30% wool, 70% acrylic), color HP57, I used up a bit under one skein. Knitted with needle 5mm. I finished it exactly by the time of big snowstorm, so I had been standing in the snow for quite a while already when the picture was taken.

Ilusat talve kõigile!
Have a nice winter!
